While Istanbul possesses a wealth of things for tourists to see and do, other regions have their appeal. Splash around the mud baths of Dalyan or scramble around the volcanic rock of Goreme. Divers will want to swim the ancient wrecks around Bodrum. Wherever you go, don’t ever, ever skip coffee and desserts; enjoying flowery Turkish Delight and gooey-flaky baklava is mandatory.

Day 1: Istanbul

  • Arrive in Istanbul and check into your hotel.
  • Start your exploration with a visit to the iconic Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque) and marvel at its stunning architecture.
  • Next, explore the Hagia Sophia, a former Byzantine church turned Ottoman mosque turned museum.
  • Take a leisurely walk through the historic Sultanahmet Square and visit the Topkapi Palace, the residence of the Ottoman sultans.

Day 2: Istanbul

  • Take a relaxing Bosphorus cruise to enjoy panoramic views of Istanbul's skyline and the strait that separates Europe and Asia.
  • Explore the vibrant neighborhood of Beyoglu, where you can stroll down Istiklal Avenue, visit the Galata Tower, and immerse yourself in the city's modern atmosphere.
  • In the evening, experience the lively nightlife and enjoy dinner at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the city.

Day 3: Cappadocia

  • Fly from Istanbul to Cappadocia, known for its unique landscape of fairy chimneys and cave dwellings.
  • Take a hot air balloon ride during sunrise to witness the breathtaking views of Cappadocia from above.
  • Explore the Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage site showcasing rock-cut churches and monasteries.

Day 4: Cappadocia

  • Discover the rock-cut churches and frescoes in the lesser-known valleys, like Zemi Valley or Pigeon Valley.

  • Spend the evening at a local cave hotel and indulge in a Turkish bath (hammam) for a relaxing experience.

Day 5: Pamukkale and Hierapolis

  • Fly from Cappadocia to Denizli and head to Pamukkale, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its travertine terraces and thermal pools.
  • Explore the ancient city of Hierapolis, located atop Pamukkale, and visit its well-preserved theater, necropolis, and the Cleopatra Pool.
  • Take a dip in the warm mineral-rich waters of Pamukkale's terraces, known for their therapeutic properties.
  • Overnight in Pamukkale or continue to Ephesus, depending on your preference and time constraints.

Day 6: Ephesus

  • Visit the ancient city of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved Roman archaeological sites in the world.
